Dr Angela Kelsall initially joined the University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Trust in 1999 as a Clinical Physiologist before developing a strong interest in research.  Angela took the opportunity when invited by Professor Jacky Smith to step into research undertaking a PhD on chronic cough.  Angela successfully achieved her PhD from the University of Manchester in 2008.  Following gaining her PhD Angela took the role of Lead Physiologist prior to becoming the Deputy Operational Manager of the NIHR RACRF.  Angela works closely with her academic colleagues and those across USHM; she is fundamental to the achievements and success of the NIHR RACRF.
